Last year, Hungary issued a statement that in 2021 Budapest will host a World Hunting and Nature Exhibition, and asked the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC) to be the patron of the exhibition and to advise the designated Commissioner’s office locally and internationally. Count József Károlyi, the appointed Ministerial Commissioner of the “One with Nature” exhibition is responsible for the preparatory tasks associated to the event, and the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation has an advisory role in the organization of the world exhibition.
Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, dr. Zsolt Semjén earlier this year highlighted that the 2021 Exhibition relies on 3 pillars: the construction of the venues in Hungary, the international events and conferences, and the national events. Count József Károlyi, Ministerial Commissioner of the World Hunting and Nature Exhibition underlined that “Foresters, farmers, rational thinkers, and hunters, those who live together with nature and understand its rhythm, understand that there is a need for human intervention in today’s over civilized world. When these people carry out their work in a sustainable manner, they are one with nature.”
The first international event was announced following the official invitation from the Hungarian Government – the 2021 CPW Wildlife Forum.
The Second Wildlife Forum – convened under the theme “Sustainable Use for Conservation and Livelihoods” by the Collaborative Partnership on Sustainable Wildlife Management (CPW) –, which took place on 21 November 2018, on the sidelines of the fourteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 14) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt was concluded with a reception, where Hungary announced its intention to host the CPW Wildlife Forum in Budapest, Hungary in 2021.
Dr. Zsolt Semjén, Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary officially informed the Chairman of the CPW that the Hungarian Government is preparing for the World Hunting and Nature exhibition titled “One with Nature”, which focuses on the relationships between man and nature, and the responsible, sustainable utilization of our natural environment as an important means to conserve biological diversity. The letter was read out by Roland Melisch, the CPW Vice-Chair, and Senior Director Africa and Europe, TRAFFIC.
The Forum would be held within the framework of the World Exhibition which will begin in the end of September, 2021.
