Two new countries joined the CIC on the occasion of the 63rd General Assembly. Zambia and Zimbabwe become State Members of the organization by declaring that they will follow the CIC aims and objectives. Zambia and Zimbabwe are rich in biodiversity. Zambia has about 30% of their territories under conservation and Zimbabwe has 13%. Their constitutions advocate sustainable use of their natural resources for the present and future generations. The Ministry of Tourism and Arts of the Republic of Zambia, represented by Paul Zyambo, the Director of Wildlife Authority, and Prince Mupazviriho, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment Water and Climate of the Republic of Zimbabwe have actively participated in the discussions, they shared their wisdom and experiences on the relations between rural livelihoods, conservation, and sustainable hunting.  Prince Mupazviriho stated that “It was a very good decision to join as State Member, and we will certainly participate in future events.”
