“Sustainable hunting: Tool for Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation” Under this title, Boris Zala, Member of the European Parliament, with the support of the International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation (CIC), the Slovak Hunters Chamber (SHCH) and the Federation of Associations of Hunting and Conservation of the EU (FACE),  organized an exhibition at the European Parliament with the aim to showcase and present the historical and cultural values of sustainable wildlife management and conservation in the rural areas of Slovakia. The exhibition was followed by a tasting of Slovakian food and wine.

EP_exhibition_ZalaIn his opening remarks, Mr. Zala emphasized the excellent cooperation of the organizations and highlighted the need for more visibility of their activities.

 

EP_exhibition_SubaDr. Imrich Šuba, Vice President of the CIC, called for uniting hunters, underlined that joint efforts are crucial for the future of hunting, and reminded the audience that one of the CIC’s motto is: “Wildlife knows no borders“.

EP_exhibition_LebockyTibor Lebocký, President of SHCH, thanked Boris Zala for his support, and pointed out that the current management of nature in Slovakia is also the result of excellent work of generations of Slovakian hunters. “Hunting is not only conservation, but part of our cultural heritage.”

 

At the opening, the attendance of MEPs from different political groups showed the spirit of the exhibition; hunting also unites politicians.
