On 18 November, 2020, the “Biodiversity, Hunting, Countryside” Intergroup will be hosting an online conference entitled Coexisting with Large Carnivores: Next steps in conservation and management.

The conference will address the next steps in the EU’s policy framework on large carnivores and the related challenges and solutions towards improving coexistence.

The “Biodiversity, Hunting, Countryside” Intergroup is an active stakeholder platform within European Parliament, which aims to affirm the crucial role of rural actors and the socio-economic importance of hunting and countryside activities.

In addition to this, the EU Large Carnivore Platform will be hosting a thematic webinar on Stakeholder involvement in LC monitoring on 24 November, 2020.

The webinar will be on the activities involved in large carnivore monitoring, the involvement of stakeholders, and the desirability and potential for expanding the role of stakeholders in data collection.

Among those taking part and attending the webinar will be the CIC, in addition to the European Federation for Hunting and Conservation & Conservation (FACE), and the Large Carnivore Initiative for Europe (LCIE).

The EU Large Carnivore Platform, or the EU Platform on Coexistence between People and Large Carnivores, is a grouping of organisations, including the CIC, which aims to find solutions to issues arising from the co-existence of people and large carnivore.
