A common research project, carried out by the Danish Museum of Hunting and Forestry and the Women’s Museum in Denmark in 2009-10, tried to clarify some of the reasons why a rising number of women are becoming hunters in Denmark.

Some of the most important results are presented Denmarkand the trends found are briefly compared with similar research in Western Europe and North America. The study is entitled: “Danish hunters of the early 21st century”. One of the interesting findings is that in Denmark, most women do actually hunt with men who are close to them, whether they are husbands, fathers, or friends.
