Wildlife Photo Prize 2014
26 May 2014

In 2013 October the CIC Photo Competition was announced under the motto “Astonishing Wildlife”. Wildlife photography, indeed, is one of the best ways to visibly demonstrate to a broader public the values of sustainable hunting / wildlife management as a basis for conservation. This was the motivation for the CIC to also encourage of non-hunting photographers to participate and to assist the CIC in its mission for the conservation of our biodiversity.

We have received close to 200 entries and the President of Culture Division, Prince Alexandre Poniatowski, the CIC Prize Committee Coordinators, Baron Dr. Wulf Gordian Hauser and Johann Hendrik Mohr preselected the best photos and they were in display at the exhibition area during the 61st General Assembly in Milan.

We asked the participants of the General Assembly to vote for the best picture and the best action picture.

The following prizes could be won:
CIC Prize          1000 €
2nd Prize            750 €
3rd Prize             500 €
Action Prize        250 €

Thanks to Prince Poniatowski’s work, we got a confirmation from Leica France just before the General Assembly that they are sponsoring a Leica prize. The Leica prize is the first step of a hopefully longterm, mutually fruitful cooperation.

The winner was selected by the jury and the prize is a V-LUX 4 camera. The winner is Samuel Rajkumar from India with ”the hawk in front of the glass building”.
