For our tenth and final edition of Debunking the Myths, we look to address the suggestion that parties cannot work together due to differences in ideologies.
Conservation policies should be determined based on the specific needs of a country or region’s wildlife, habitats and people. This may mean sustainably using natural resources, while also employing other conservation tools.
It is often a lack of collaboration, due to opposing ideologies, that prevents areas from reaching their full conservation potential. Real life examples have shown that collaboration is possible, when parties look to jointly achieve conservation objectives.
