In the year following the initial signing of the partnership in April 2020, both sides have made significant strides towards closer integration and collaboration, despite the challenges presented due to Covid-19.

Founded in 2018, Hunter & Co has grown to become the most popular hunting app developer in Europe and has surpassed the benchmark amount of 460,000 downloads, as of writing, which is growing exponentially daily, and throughout Europe.

In addition to continuing to develop and enhance functions and features to assist in the organization and safety before, during, and after the hunt, as well as adapting them to the different varieties and traditions of hunting found around the world, they have increased their focus on benefitting wildlife research and highlighting the benefits hunting has for conservation. This project utilizes the wide variety of naturally generated user-data which is collected anonymously for partner-organisations in advocating the myriad of benefits hunting has for wildlife management, rural populations, biodiversity and conservation.

Hunter & Co apps currently integrate the CIC news, updates, and reports into the magazine part of the app. This allows the CIC to raise awareness and communicate with the European hunting community at large, as well as to encourage donations and support for its mission.

Hunter & Co and the CIC have collaborated closely to further encourage partnerships and collaborations with national CIC delegations, CIC members and affiliated organizations.

CEO and CIC Member, Lorenz Frey-Hilti, notes: “We are proud and delighted to continue our close collaboration with the CIC, their support and feedback has been invaluable in the adaptation of the app to local environments and in supporting our mission to create a universally accessible hunting tool.”

Among the many improvements and adaptations which Hunter & Co has made over the last year, one of the major leaps forward in digitalization has been the “event” feature for driven and group hunts, which provides invaluable organization, invitation, and safety tools, by encouraging awareness of one’s surroundings in real-time and indicating the safe shooting direction for hunters.

CIC President George Aman stated: “Hunter & Co is the future of hunting. We believe their tools for research and data collection will prove invaluable in the future of our passion and with it the conservation of wildlife through sustainable use”.
